Digi Marketing Jedi

Welcome.

You’re about to become a Marketing Jedi.  You’re going to learn how
people are wired, and how you can use this to improve your marketing.

But I want to make something very clear right from the start…

We didn’t invent this stuff.  The ‘buttons’ you’re about to learn how to push have
been known to high tier marketers and compliance professionals for some time,
even if they weren’t quite sure why they worked.

People are affected to different degrees, but they do affect everyone, and it
doesn’t help much to know they’re being used.  These days, I can pretty often
spot what someone’s doing when they’re trying to sell me something… but they
still manage to sell it to me.

The seminal text on this subject – and one to which we owe quite a debt – is
Robert Cialdini’s Influence.  You’ll find a lot more information on the theory
behind most of these buttons (and more detail on a lot of the case studies) in this
book.  It’s freakin’ amazing, and as soon as you’re done with Digi Marketing Jedi
you should read it.

So, what does Digi Marketing Jedi offer you that nothing else does?

Really, it’s a matter of approach.

This can be information – sending emails that actually provide useful content
rather than just pointing people towards a promotion…

It could be a freebie – a free report or bit of software that your subscribers don’t
have to do anything for, not even sign up to a new list…

But give them something, and the sense of obligation they’ll feel will result in a
lot more clicks for you.

This is just the beginning – More on how you can obtain this Information will
happen here on February 28, 2012 – Stay Tuned!

Building an Internet Marketing Empire Through Outsourcing

The ability to succeed with internet marketing largely depends on your skills and expertise in the chosen niche. That way, you can bring in loyal reader or customer base to your online business such that you can earn money through selling your products or providing services on the web. In case you do not have skills or knowledge that is potentially profitable in an internet marketing setting, then you need not worry because outsourcing provides the solution you need. In fact, it is possible to build an internet marketing through outsourcing services alone.

First off, what is outsourcing? The simplest way to define it would be to tap the services of a remote employee to provide the services you need, whether it is web development, link building, or content writing. It is therefore possible to build your own website, optimize it, and earn a huge amount of income from it through the efforts of individuals who have hired through the outsourcing method. This is why internet marketing is considered as one of the best businesses in the world since you can leverage the skills and knowledge of your employees to help your business grow.

There are several remote workers out there that advertise their services on the web. Hence, you can conduct your own research for anyone who could offer the services you need. For instance, if you are looking for web content writers then you can screen through individuals who can provide you with writing services. The same goes if you are looking for web developers, webmasters, link builders, or social media and search engine optimizers.

There are also several benefits to outsourcing that can help boost your internet marketing efforts. The most obvious benefit is the fact that you can utilize skills or knowledge that you do not have and tap that from the service providers. Also, it is more cost-efficient for you to hire an outsourced employee than hire a regular employee to provide the services you need.

The cost efficiency arises from a number of ways including the fact that you do not have to provide for a work station for them to get the work done. In fact, you will be paying only for the services provided by the outsourced employee and you can therefore reduce the overhead cost for operating your business. In addition, the salary rate for outsourcing is lesser as compared to hiring employees from your area because employees are from developing countries.

The success of your internet marketing business largely depends on the quality of the employees that you have decided to hire through outsourcing. There are several freelancers out there that provide services for an even lower rate. However, it would be more beneficial if you can hire through an outsourcing agency to ensure that they will provide work at a fixed schedule. There are a lot of services involved in an internet marketing business. This is why it is considered as one of the best businesses in the world since you can have more control over its operation.

Great Questions Regarding Free Marketing Traffic

John asks…

Why does it seem the left in our country are the ones really backward on climate-science ?

This has been the coldest winter in the last few years. Snow and frigid temps has been in all 50 American states. So how is this global warming ?? Could it this actually be global cooling ?
The left are retarded. I remember they even though the 2004 Tsunami was related to global warming when earth shaking has nothing to do with weather at all. Anyone that thinks otherwise should get a lobotomy if they think earthquakes are related to climate.
Global Warming is the biggest myth. Even the Europeans at Copenhagen think it is bull shit. That’s why they did not jump aboard on Obama’s plan.

But before anyone thinks I am some right wing nut, I agree that there should be less use of foreign oil and more need to create Japanese and Western European style high speed rail systems along regional corridors like so:

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/6/6f/High_Speed_Rail_07-09-2009.JPG

and more urban public transit. Even if imenent domain has to be used it must be done.

That way people that want to drive will deal with less drivers since there will be less road traffic by 50 percent. It also will create free market competition between a new high speed rail industry and the airline industry. In addition we should explore alternative fuel sources or even dig for oil the Gulf of Mexico. Doing so, it best of all, can create 10 million new jobs, and no need to kiss the saudi camel lovers.

But saying global warming is real, is just retarded.

Larry McCann answers:

What?

Mandy asks…

What are your thoughts about Narco-traffic in the Caribbean and Narco-violence in the Northern borders Mexico?

Narcotraffic in the Caribbean and violence in the Mexican northern borders: Cocaine wars.
Narco-communism vs Narco-neoliberalism

It’s really funny and cynical. – Drug smuggling and trafficking take place mainly in the Caribbean area between Cuba and Florida!, Puerto Rico and New York, Cayman islands or Jamaica and UK, etc,

But Violence,. . . is wide spread in the northern border of Mexico!
( Terrorism ) ! It seems like the drug war is against MEXICO!
and/or between the Antillean-Floridian cartel vs the Mexican/American mafias and cartels. …However all drugs have the USA as ultimate destination. Supply & Demand. Most druggies live in America and they earn in dollars to afford illegal drugs in the black and white markets. The US media decided not to face, talk and discuss issues like this one WHY?
Practice free speech or bite your tongue!
The coverage of violence is part of the terrorist campaign of defamation.
Violence should be in Florida and Cuba.
not in Mexico.
When a country is terrorized to distract public opinion from criminal activities in other regions of the world, it’s called propaganda.

The US spend billions and trillions in coverages, I mean propaganda.

Larry McCann answers:

In Mexico we dont have Terrorism.
Terrorism is when violent acts are comitted with not an apparent purpose just to defend an idea.

Here, acts of terror, are always coming with the drug transportation. Its pure drug acts.
USA give Mexico a huge reason to transport all these drugs: Junkies.
All the drugs end up at USA, not in Mexico. I live here, know many many many people and drugs arent our problem: alcohol, violence and corruption are!
There is something our polititians are analyzing deeply that is legalizing drugs in Mexico, so all the drug dealers would have to pay taxes to pay fro those drugs, but USA do NOT want that and there is a documents where USA actually BEGS us not to do it… Funny isnt it.

Anyways, lots of violence in the border because the mexican army must stop all the drug transportation.

Susan asks…

Where to find a standard banner ad agreement template (I am the publisher)?

I work for a site with alot of traffic and am getting into ad sales (banner and text). No one here has done it before so we dont have a standard agreement or insertion order. Does anyone know where I can find a free template for such a contract so I can get sarted and then send it over to legal? In the past I have done media buys but never really read the contract so I dont really remember what should be in there. I/O’s are pretty easy, but as far as ad contracts with new advertisers I’m not sure where to start. Any online marketing guys out there know where to look for a free template?

Larry McCann answers:

Instead of reinventing the wheel, you may want to just sign up with someone like LinkShare, who place advertisers’ banners on publishers’ websites. It’s called “Affiliate Marketing”, and you become an “affiliate” to the advertisers. Some webmasters are able to make thousands in this market, by selecting the proper products that pertain to their website.

The advertisers pay the publishers a commission on actual sales that are generated once a customer has clicked through your site.

Here’s the link:

https://ssl.linksynergy.com/php-bin/reg/sregister.shtml?offerid=7097&mid=560&siteid=bYFJMzuGq8M-iOsgvF&no_r=1

It costs nothing to join, and you have the option whether to place any ads or not. It has advertisers such as Walmart, among many others.

If you need more info on others, take a look here:

https://ecommbiz.net/Affiliate_Marketing.html

Good luck, I hope this helps.

George asks…

Larry McCann answers:

Donald asks…

Why has the U.S. continued a “demand-side” war on drugs in light of poor results?

The U.S. has been conducting a “demand-side” war on drugs for decades.
Some results:
1) Narcotics traffic into the U.S. has increased during this time.
2) Federal and state tax commitments for the policing and incarceration of non-violent drug offenders have skyrocketed.
3) In some recent instances, e.g. fentanyl-laced heroin, kids choosing to experiment are DYING because they are at the mercy of criminal vendors, i.e. no quality-control of sold chemicals.

If the costs and results of this program were audited within any for-profit corporation, the board of directors would have fired the management years ago. In the least, investors would have screamed to halt the program or cut off its funding in light of the lack of success.

What would be the likely costs and effects of removing the profit-motive for the traffickers by legalizing, taxing, and providing oversight for some of the less harmful street-drugs (turn them into standard commodities subject to free-market economics)?

Larry McCann answers:

The ‘war on drugs’ isn’t a rational fight against a social ill. It’s something that plays well on TV, especially to people who don’t know much about it, but are afraid.

Talking tough makes politicians look good and the scared and uneducated feel safe. Whether the policy works or not has little to do with it.

Witness current policy on, well, just about everything.

Mark asks…

Rideshare – Carpool site RideBay.com, would you do it? Carpool for money?

Rideshare and Carpool are very important to the future of our State. Sites like

http://rideshare.ridebay.com/Rideshare/Rideshare_How_It_Works.html

are free market systems for Rideshare and Carpool where the driver can get paid.

Would you be a driver if you could collect $0.60/mile?

Would you be a passenger at $0.25/mile?

What if it cured traffic congestion?

What if it cleaned the air (that brown stuff)?

What if we had more money in the end to go out on Friday Nights?

What if it cut the Global Warming graph in half?

Larry McCann answers:

Yes! Yes!! Yes!!! Rideshare is absolutely necessary. My commute stinks and so does the air I breath, rideshare is a great way to lessen pollutants and ease CONGESTION.
I would gladly pay 25cents per mile, I estimate my auto expenses at about three times the rideshare fees. As for being a driver, well wouldn’t it be great to offset expenses while doing a good thing for our planet.

Great Questions Regarding Marketing Minds At Work

Jenny asks…

is there a resource for asperger to understand other TYPES of people?

Not social skills training. what I need is a book or media to help an asperger understand other people’s motivations, needs and expectations. How their minds work and how they perceive things. Their different types and what social rules they prefer.
Obviously this resource is not needed to be necessarily directed at Aspergers. marketing and psychology boks ar OK.

Larry McCann answers:

For me, reading fiction helped me understand other people. Yes, fiction is quite different from real life. But fiction lets you experience a different perspective. You can get inside someone’s thoughts, and see what motivates them and how they perceive life. This is more than I get out of real people, whose feelings are not written down. Reading books helped me understand and empathize with others better.

Carol asks…

psychology or marketing? want to study marketing/work in it?

Psychology or marketing? want to study marketing!?
Psychology or Marketing? want to study marketing?
Ok ,so I would love to study marketing, Im very creative, and understand the human mind well. Im talented in business (so much that my business teacher says im a super talent, not trying to show off, just pointing out where i stand!). I have thought about studying business management and marketing, yet now i think ive decided that because im so creative (i love to write creatively and imagine things and stories) that i would like to do full time marketing, and preferably marketing management.
I get excellent grades and would like to study in a top university. High pay in a job is important to me, as I have hobbies which i love and want to keep, which are quite expensive, such as horseback riding. I like working in a team, and have good ‘leader qualities’ (i like to be the one in charge).
My question: Is marketing a good choice? is it well paid??

Next question: what would be best to study for marketing?? I have heard that if you study psychology, the marketing industry lies at your feet, so it is better to study psychology than marketing? Is there a form of studying both??

Thanks

Larry McCann answers:

Why don’t you study yourself for a few years? Go somewhere you never thought you would go. Join the peace core, learn more about who you are before jumping into a career.

Why do you want to pressure and lie and manipulate to people into buying useless crap for the rest of your life? Will you be able to sleep at night with a job that greedy, boring and dishonest? If you like horses, why not just be cowboy? Seriously.

All the crap in the world won’t make you happy, trust me, my family and I went from having millions to food stamps in a matter of 5 years and I am happier now than I ever have been.

Susan asks…

Should I take this job offer that was given to me by Vector Marketing?

I live in Winnipeg, Manitoba, in Canada and my friends went for job interviews at Vector Marketing. I didn’t really know what it was, so I called into their offices. They told me that I could go in for an interview TOMORROW and they told me the following information:
-apparently, I wouldn’t be working in a call center or door-to-door, because they don’t do that anymore
-i would get a base pay of $15.50/hour whether or not i sold merchadise
-I would be interacting face-to-face with a customer, no online stuff
-That if i got hired, i could pick an office to work at closer to home (since their regional building that I’m going to the interview for is all the way on the other side of town)
-they had really flexible hours that i could choose from once I start school in the fall

I looked up on what other people thought about them, and i always heard some really negative stuff. Are they really a scam? I’m not on commission (apparently) so whenever i hear people complaining about the pay, I don’t really think i’ll have a problem with that. I don’t mind working and interacting with people, because I’m very sociable, but with the given information. Should I go for the interview and accept the job if they offer me one?

Larry McCann answers:

They are correct in some of the statements:

You would not be selling door-to-door, because they want you to sell to family & friends. But you’ll run out of these pretty fast, then you’ll be forced to do door-to-door if you want to keep selling. Most people quit before reaching this stage.

You probably will work out of your home, using your own transport to visit your friends & family. So you will not work at their building.

You will certainly interact with customers face-to-face. That’s how they sell – by demonstrating the knives in homes.

Since you are required to make your own appointments, and find your own customers, your hours will indeed be flexible.

I would be very skeptical about the claim of $15.50/hour whether you sold or not. As the poster above says, get this fact in writing, and signed by a senior manager, not a field recruiter.

My strong suspicion is that they are giving you a line to swallow.

Avoid Vector, it will not be a good or profitable experience for you.

Michael asks…

Looking for work, anywhere in Canada.. Cant find a job in Ottawa and i don’t care about moving. suggestions?

Hi my name is Mark, I am 22 and reasonably fit and I’ve dug myself into kind of a rut. I have had jobs doing dishes, cooking, general and hard labour, driving,wal-mart.. i’ve even resorted to passing out fliers. I was recently laid off from a fine dining restaurant because we weren’t getting enough business. I’m an honest, hard working and reliable individual, but with the current job market the only types of jobs i can find are the ones i want to avoid. I don’t mind hard work at all, just as long as the pay makes it worth it. but with kitchen jobs you never get steady hours…

anyways to make a long story short, i am tired of all this. I want to move somewhere, and get a job with plenty of hours and a good pay. What i would like from you is GOOD suggestions on where i could send my resume and who to talk to.

‘PLEASE NO WORK AT HOME SCAMS, or anything having to do with working at home, marketing, or any get rich quick schemes.

I would appreciate any information that could lead to me being employed..

Thank you.
Mark

Larry McCann answers:

Hi Mark, seems like you are not afraid of hard work so why don’t you challenge yourself to go to Algonquin College? If you have been laid off and can’t find suitable employment the government will pay you to go to school for retraining then you can get a good job and a trade. Hope this helps. Have a very good week end.

Great Questions Regarding Best New Business Ideas

Betty asks…

I have an Idea for a new business, who are the best people to discuss my ideas with?

I am in NSW Australia, I want to discuss the options of my Idea. For example Start as a new business (stand alone) or get a larger existing companies backing in which I could bennefit from dividends (i think thats what its called). Who would I look for to talk too, I have never had anything to do with starting a business at all.
I also have extremely limited funds being a single parent.
thanks ahead of time!!

Larry McCann answers:

What you would want to start with is a business plan. You can research how to create a business plan online. However, this is a key piece of information to have available to any potential investors you may find (venture capitalists, banks, etc.) They will want to know how you intend to make money with your idea. If you cannot do it by yourself and must have facilities, and employees then you will want to do the business plan. If you can do it on your own… Hop to it!

Good luck and all the best.

Carol asks…

What r the best websites for getting new business ideas?Unique business Ideas?

Larry McCann answers:

If a business idea is listed on a website — which is visible to EVERY internet user — chances are that it is not unique anymore as others have copied it.

The best business will depend on what you want, how you define to be interesting. A person may consider a pet sitting business to be the most exciting work in the world, while another person would rather watch TV than take care of dogs.

The key is to determine what your interests are, what you want to do, what is suitable for your lifestyle and your overall goals, and what can fit with your resources.

Susan asks…

best way to advertise my painting business?

New business, ideas on best internet sites to advertise on.

Larry McCann answers:

The best internet site to advertise is always going to be your own site. Are you thinking of keeping your business local, nationwide or global?

George asks…

What would be the best option for me to raise/get capitol for my new small business idea?

I am doing a lot of research and I’m looking for some wisdom. I have no credit, never owned a business, or any property. I just know every aspect of running the new business because I’ve worked in the industry for a while. I’m planning on opening a hookah bar. If theres any kind of info for first time borrowers, please do let me know. Thank you very much for any help and advice.

Larry McCann answers:

Most lenders are going to expect you to have collateral for the loan. That means unless you have assets you can pledge in case of default, you will not likely get a loan.

In your case, I recommend you find a partner with either cash to invest or the ability to borrow. To an investor your knowledge and experience in the business is valuable. You can write a business plan, start it, and run it. This work is generally called “sweat equity”. That’s just a way of saying you can earn part ownership through hard work. There are quite a few investors who are looking for people to do those things because many investors don’t want to actually work in the business, they just want a good return on their investment. This type of partner can also provide you with valuable business advice.

Investment partners are often called angel investors. They provide a modest amount of money in exchange for some of the ownership. I find the entrepreneurship magazine site helpful in understanding how to find a good investment partner. There is a good list of angel investor organizations on Gaebler resources for entrepreneurs.
