Great Questions Regarding Great Sales Letters Online

Donald asks…

Printing and paying for shipping lables online for eBay sales?

Ok, so I’m starting to sell more things on eBay and trying to figure out a few things. Such as when your getting your shipping lable online can you choose to ship it letter mail/ small package with a tracking #? also do I need a special printer? Or what kind of paper do I have to buy, and how do I set it up to print?
So if you can answer those questions and offer any extra advice that will help that will be great. Thanks to everyone that answers.

Larry McCann answers:

If you receive payment for your ebay auctions through PayPal, you can use their shipping label services. You enter the package weight and how you want to mail the item (first class, priority etc)

PayPal includes delivery confirmation (the tracking #) for free when you pay/print the shipping label through them.

I use my regular printer and plain old copy paper for my shipping labels.

David asks…

How to gracefully quit a job after 1 month?

I’m a recent college grad and before you all judge I do realize that I am blessed and lucky to have landed a job so soon out of college. So my story is this. I interviewed with my current company and I really thought this job would be for me. Yes i realize i was blinded by it all, the exictement that someone believed in me, the chance to have a paycheck and salary, and the chance to prove myself, but I really thought this company would be a good place to start. But the problem and the situation I am now is its not for me. I know i should stick it out, save money, learn more, but I am not good at sales. I love people, I want to do Marketing, but sales just isnt for some people. And I go into work feeling miserable everyday, trying to find a way out of going, and I just dont want to continue to feel this way. Whats hard too is that my staff and my boss are such great people. They put alot of faith in me, and now I feel awful if i quit on them. And on the other hand I do not want to waste any more of their time. I do not want to keep trying to get by here and pretend to feel good while they put their full work on the line and investment in me. Ive looked all online how to quit gracefully, what to do,samples of letters of resignation, but I just thought Id ask for some advice if anyone had it. Thanks

Larry McCann answers:

Hi Susanne,
I s-o-o-o understand your situation. I too have worked in sales but REALLY love marketing. I plan to return to college soon as a business law major with a focus on marketing. What you have described goes beyond what one would expect during an adjustment period on a new job… You stated, “And I go into work feeling miserable everyday, trying to find a way out of going, and I just dont want to continue to feel this way”. The fact is you SHOULDN’T go on in this manner. YOU CAN’T. I think you have given the best explanation above to provide to your employer. For one – it ‘s the truth and for two – it speaks from the heart.

Say all that you have stated above – 1) how you are feeling on a daily basis 2) that you were blinded by the excitement of all that a new career entails 3) that you appreciate their faith in your abilities by hiring you 4) that you do not want to waste anymore of their time, and 5) you will continue to work until they find a replacement.

Since this job has affected you to such a negative degree you owe it to yourself and everyone involved to be honest. You can preface your statement by saying just that…I like to be honest, so I must tell you….blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Once you do that you will feel a lot better! If your employer does not state a time within which you can resign, then two – three weeks would be good notice.

As for the manner of your resignation, initial notice should be in person followed by a letter re-capitalizing on what you stated and circumscribing the final outcome of your termination.

As for your next employer…if this subject comes up BE HONEST! Most jobs have a probationary period to see whether you are a good fit for the company and whether the company is a good fit for you – in this case it was not!

Ken asks…

My boyfriend graduated with an Industrial Engineering degree and can’t find a job. HELP?!?

My boyfriend graduated with a degree in industrial and systems engineering with a minor in business and sales engineering. He graduated from a great school with a 3.5 GPA for his major. He can’t seem to get a job though. He has sent out over 100 resumes but only gotten rejections because of lack of experience. I’m doing everything I can to help him by finding job postings online and giving him networking suggestions, but nothing seems to be working. He doesn’t have anybody in the field that he can use as a networking contact which makes everything harder. Every rejection letter he gets makes him more depressed and unmotivated and me too. Please help!

Is this the best way to Promote Yourself for a Job?

I’ve seen the way the competition applies for jobs online, but i just seem to think my covering letter stands out and better than the majority. Meaning a better chance of getting an interview. Agree?

Larry McCann answers:

You should not sound so desprate, try to impress your future employer buy highlighting your talents, strength and unique qualities. But you have to deliver in a formal way of writing. Your Cover letter style is too personal and journalistic. No employer will take you seriously if you sound like sending an autobiography letter slash cover letter. Keep it simple, direct, comprehensive and formal.

Explain why you are sending a resume.
Don’t send a resume without a cover letter.
Don’t make the reader guess what you are asking for; be specific: Do you want a summer internship opportunity, or a permanent position at graduation; are you inquiring about future employment possibilities?
Tell specifically how you learned about the position or the organization — a flyer posted in your department, a web site, a family friend who works at the organization. It is appropriate to mention the name of someone who suggested that you write.
Convince the reader to look at your resume.
The cover letter will be seen first.
Therefore, it must be very well written and targeted to that employer.
Call attention to elements of your background — education, leadership, experience — that are relevant to a position you are seeking. Be as specific as possible, using examples.
Reflect your attitude, personality, motivation, enthusiasm, and communication skills.
Provide or refer to any information specifically requested in a job advertisement that might not be covered in your resume, such as availability date, or reference to an attached writing sample.
Indicate what you will do to follow-up.
• In a letter of application — applying for an advertised opening — applicants often say something like “I look forward to hearing from you.” However, if you have further contact info (e.g. Phone number) and if the employer hasn’t said “no phone calls,” it’s better to take the initiative to follow-up, saying something like, “I will contact you in the next two weeks to see if you require any additional information regarding my qualifications.”
• In a letter of inquiry — asking about the possibility of an opening — don’t assume the employer will contact you. You should say something like, “I will contact you in two weeks to learn more about upcoming employment opportunities with (name of organization).” Then mark your calendar to make the call.

Mary asks…

Would Jehovah’s Witnesses want to sell or give away publications containing false doctrine?

Would Jehovah’s Witnesses want to associate with an organization that had a policy of selling books containing false doctrine in the past?

I believe that most JW’s would answer my first question, “No! Absolutely not!”

However, before answering my second question, please research the following in your own literature. If the older publications are not available at your local Kingdom Hall, many can be found in Watchtower archives online.

God’s Kingdom of a Thousand Years Has Approached (1973), says that the view that Charles Russell was the fulfillment of the “faithful and discreet slave” was “prominently featured in the book published in July of 1917 by People’s Pulpit Association of Brooklyn, New York [Studies in the Scriptures Vol. 7, The Finished Mystery]…Such a book and religious attitude tended to establish a religious sect centered around a man. Such a drift toward sectarianism was halted however…Later in the year 1927 ANY REMAINING STOCKS OF THE SIX VOLUMES OF STUDIES IN THE SCRIPTURES by Russell AND OF THE FINISHED MYSTERY were disposed of among the public. (pp 346-347)

(Now, I would have to ask—why not dispose of them in the garbage if they promoted creature worship? Why would the Society choose to “dispose” of these books by selling them to the public? But please continue…)

The Watchtower publication, “Then is Finished the Mystery of God,” published in 1969 also stated that the Watchtower issue of Feb 15, 1927 “weakened any basis for forming a sect around Russell…Furthermore, years before this [1930], the book The Finished Mystery was allowed to go out of circulation.” (pp 112-113)

God’s “Eternal Purpose” Now Triumphing (1974) reproduces the “Chart of the Ages” fold-out included in Series I of the Studies in the Scriptures (The Divine Plan of the Ages), showing the Great Pyramid that was held out to be “God’s stone witness” and was used to calculate dates. This book says, “despite the inaccuracies that are discernible in it today, this ‘Chart of the Ages’ served to show the line of sincere reasoning that was based upon the thought that the All-Wise, Almighty God has a ‘plan.’” God’s “Eternal Purpose” continues, saying that the Divine Plan of the Ages’ “circulation ceased in the year 1929 C.E.” (pp 9-10)

(So, according to these accounts, any remaining stocks of Studies in the Scriptures were disposed of “in the year 1927,” “years before 1930,” and “in the year 1929.”)

It is true that, according to the Watchtower Bulletin of December 1, 1927, special effort was made to “canvas for Studies in the Scriptures,” and: “In the sale of Studies in the Scriptures colporteurs lead. They have disposed of 16,705, as compared with the class sales of 15,293.” (p 3)

However, The Watch Tower of April 15, 1928 contained some interesting information: “Some complain that there are mistakes in the Studies in the Scriptures and therefore they should not be put out. This is wrong. The Studies in the Scriptures contain a statement of the divine plan, and those in present truth who have been in the truth for any length of time got their knowledge from the Studies in the Scriptures. Others will be able to do the same thing. Do not try to hide behind some excuse to hinder the service. Do with your might what your hands find to do and the Lord’s blessing will continue with you richly.” (p 105)

The Watchtower of November 1, 1929 contained a notice that, “The Society has decided to designate the week beginning November 10 as a special drive week for the sale of Studies in the Scriptures.” (p 72)

Then the Watchtower Bulletin of November 1, 1929 printed a letter from “T.S.” from Massachusetts stating: “I rejoice in the blessed privilege of having a part in this drive. It is a great privilege and blessing from the Lord to see his organization clearly, and our part therein. As is often the case, there are murmurings against the Studies drive. I hear them, and undoubtedly you do also. To my mind, those who take such a position do not clearly discern their proper position in the Lord’s arrangement…When the Society, established by and used of the Lord, determines upon a policy or course of action, every one who is a part of the Society must of necessity recognize that he is then bound by that policy and charged with the responsibility of carrying it to a successful conclusion…Why any should take themselves so seriously as to practically say to the Lord that that which he provided for his people during the Elijah period is now unfit for food is beyond me…” (pp 1, 3)

An ad in the Oct 30, 1929 Golden Age, under the heading, “Can You Imagine Such a Thing?” advertised the “complete set of seven volumes of Studies in the Scriptures, written by Pastor C. T.
Russell…In the seventh volume you will find a complete index of all the scriptures quoted or explained throughout these seven books…Those who already have a set of these books may desire to purchase a set to give to some friend.” (p. 96)

The Bulletin for Jehovah’s Witnesses of December 1, 1932, in an article in the center of page 1, stated: “You will rejoice in learning that while there have been 70,956 fewer bound books placed than during the previous year, still during 1931 over 100,000 Studies in the Scriptures were included in the total and many of these books were given away by the foreign brethren.”

The Watchtower Cost List dated February 1, 1962 contained on page 12: Studies, Cloth, Vol. 3; Studies, Keratol, Vols. 3, 4, 6; and De Luxe Studies, Vol. 4, each with three different costs per volume.

The Kingdom Ministry of July, 1967 contained an Announcement in the first column on page 3 that the Deluxe Studies in the Scriptures, Vol. 4 – English were out of stock.

(BTW, Vol
4 was titled “The Battle of Armageddon” and asserted on page 613 that the “faithful and wise servant” was one man).

Why did the Society claim in 1973 that any remaining stocks of the six volume Studies plus the 7th volume, The Finished Mystery were disposed of among the public in 1927, when it is obvious that some of these books were still being sold up until just six years prior to the publishing of this claim?

Larry McCann answers:

Peacelily I almost didn’t click on your question about Jehovah’s Witnesses. I enjoy having you as a contact and I like your answers about Jesus and Christianity but I do not share your passion for Jehovah’s Witnesses. But I did click on it and I read your “wall of text” (hahaha) and I read the responses. It seems you have some friends here and some enemies also.

What I got out of all of it is one simple bottom line. The organization of the Jehovah’s Witnesses claimed to have “disposed” of books that contained information that could be harmful to the readers by their standards by selling them all to the public in 1927. But their written record shows this to have been a big fat lie. The books were sold all the way through the mid 1960’s.

I do not own any books or magazines put out by Jehovah’s Witnesses so I had to resort to the internet. I googled terms like Watchtower financial material gain and Watchtower lies and found some quotes myself that apply to this situation.

“If anyone associated with the New World society of Jehovah’s witnesses misrepresents the Elisha class and tries to make selfish material gain at the expense of the healed ‘great crowd,’ he must be denounced as unclean, as a greedy self-idolizer. He must be driven out of the New World society.” This is from pages 347 to 348 of a Watchtower book titled Let Your Name Be Sanctified published in 1961. Some of these terms don’t make any sense to me but it seems that those higher-ups who made the lower level Jehovah’s Witnesses sell books that were against their conscience to sell should have been driven out of the society. Instead they lied to cover it up.

“It is obvious that the true God, who is himself ‘the God of truth’ and who hates lies, will not look with favor on persons who cling to organizations that teach falsehood. (Psalm 31:5; Proverbs 6:16-19; Revelation 21:8) And, really, would you want to be even associated with a religion that had not been honest with you?” This one is from the book Is This Life All There Is? On page 76. It matches your second question, so I wondered if this is what you had in mind when you wrote that.

“A religion that teaches lies cannot be true.” This one is from the Watchtower magazine dated December 1, 1991 on page 7

I admit it was fun researching and finding these quotes. You might end up converting me to your cause one of these days. But don’t be holding your breath because it seems you are deep in hostile territory. I prefer helping those who want to be helped, hai naa?

Larry McCann answers:

Go to www.truly-free.org/ and see if they have the ebook to download. There’s tons of free ebooks there by major authors. If not, go to http://burgomeister.org/forum/ . It’s a forum where people trade ebooks. Search to see if someone has asked for that ebook before and, if not, join up (for free) and ask yourself. If someone has it, they’ll email it to you. I’ve never been let when asking for an ebook I can’t find. Hope this helps.

Ruth asks…

Is cooperative-yardsales.com Really legit? My research says “NO”?

I was trying to buy an item on craigslist. It looks like a great deal. Too great a deal actually. The item is in my home town. I emailed and was told by the seller that she was out of town for her daughter’s wedding, but was selling this item to help pay for the wedding. She could not answer any questions about the item. She side-stepped my questions actually, ignoring them, and giving me apparently canned emails back. She said that in order for me to buy this item, I needed to go through cooperative-yardsales.com. Their website looks legit, so I went ahead and agreed to purchase, and cooperative-yardsales.com sent me a very official looking invoice, but when they told me the only way to pay was to pay a UK agent via Western Union, I was somewhat taken aback. Until this point in the discussions with the seller, Western Union never came up. In fact, before that, I even told the seller in an email that I felt ok with the transaction as I could pay via PayPal. I was told nothing to the contrary until I received the invoice from cooperative-yardsales.com. What made this seem even scarier was that fact that I was instructed to send the WU funds to a UK agent, because there was not a US agent available, or they were all too busy. Not feeling at all comfortable with this transaction, I emailed the seller pleading that we exchange product for cash in our hometown, but she insisted the product was in one of Indiana’s warehouses. I thought that to be even stranger, as according to the cooperative-yardsales.com website, they don’t even have a store in Indiana, where the seller supposedly dropped off this rather large item costing $2K to me (a real bargain btw). I emailed cooperative-yardsales.com and they insisted they had the product in their possession but they could tell me nothing about the item. I backed out of the deal, and everyone I have discussed this story with has agreed with me that this is no way to conduct business.

I did some digging and found that the cooperative-yardsales.com website went online in October. All of there testimonials on their site are dated Nov 2 – Nov 5. They don’t change. Anything you can find about this company online appears contrived. According to their website, their address is 1115 Hacienda Place, LA CA 90069. On their about us page, the company was started by Peter Becker and Erik Holcomb. If you reverse address 1115 Hacienda Place, LA CA 90069, you find that someone else lives at that address.

There apparently are people who have successfully bought and received items from cooperative-yardsales.com. Or, are those testimonials contrived? Does anyone else out there have positive or negative results? The item I wanted to buy is still out there on craigslist. I had my wife inquire about the same item while I was supposedly committed to buy the item, and the seller sent her the same canned first 2 letters, side stepping all questions about the item, and trying to push the same item through a sale via cooperative-yardsales.com using WU again.

This doesn’t smell right to me. I hope Yahoo has the balls to leave this question out there for more than 24 hours. People need to know what is going on here. If you have been scammed by this company please let me know. Maybe this is legit and I should send my $2K via WU to the UK agent. uh duh

Larry McCann answers:

100% scam.

Yes, you were receiving canned replies from that scammer. He has a dozen cut-n-paste emails and just send them off one at a time to each potential victim.

No, you should never, ever, under any circumstances, for any reason, ever pay for anything thing at any time via Western Union or moneygram.

Western Union and moneygram do not verify anything on the form the sender fills out, not the name, not the street address, not the country, not even the gender of the receiver, it all means absolutely nothing. The clerk will simply hand off your cash to whomever walks in the door with the MTCN# and question/answer. Neither company will tell the sender who picked up the cash, at what location or even in what country your money walked out the door. Neither company has any kind of refund policy, money sent is money gone forever.

Now that you have responded to a scammer, you are on his ‘potential sucker’ list, he will try again to separate you from your cash. He will send you more emails from his other free email addresses using another of his fake names with all kinds of stories of cheap electronics, goods for sale, lost money, millions in the bank and desperate, lonely, sexy singles. He will sell you email address to all his scamming buddies who will also send you dozens of fake emails all with the exact same goal, you sending them your cash via Western Union or moneygram.

Yes, cooperative-yardsales is just a big fat scam.

Do you know how to check the header of a received email? If not, google for information. Being able to read a header will help you weed out the most obvious fake sellers and scammers.

Can I Sue And Press Charges? (Scam Involvment)?

Okay So This Might Be Long but ima summarize it LONG Story short. then the email posted below.

So I Was Looking for used cars online. and i found a 06 Honda Accord for $3,500..it only had 24k miles and leather interior! i thought it was to good to be true. so i email the guy then he emails me back saying he was going through some events and left to Moscow Russia and that he needed to sell his car quick. so i was ACTUALLY buying this. then today in the morning i recieved ANOTHER Email from another ‘seller’ he was selling an 05 Maxima for $2,856 with leather Interior and low miles. so now that 2 people emailed me i snapped and knew it was a scam..specially since the maxima seller gave me a link to the photobucket site and there username was “maxx050″ which im like. if they are scaming me? why the hell would the but the first 3 letters of the can and the year? and the x0 to cover it up?

anywho. it’s only been emails at the moment. nothing *no money* has been involved. but i know for sure if i keep talking to them they’ll scam me with the cars and all…

Here is the site from where i learned it was a scam.

http://www.used-car-advisor.com/car-buyer-scam.htm

P.S. its the very first one under Attention Seller.

And one more thing. Wtf? read the first sentence and see how he put “my nameS are” then his name…wow..bad bad scammer *nods head*

—————————Email Starts Here—————————-
Sorry for the delayed response my names are ***** ****, but I’m in Moscow (Russia) right now and I have been very busy.Anyway, thank you for your interest in buying my 2006 Honda Accord EX. The car is located in USA right now and has US papers. Why is the price so low? I am going trough a hard time with my job, and I had to move out of USA I cannot register the car here, as it is made for USA, according to USA standards. So all that I want to do now is to sell the car at this price, because I need to sell it fast(I already made a deposit here to buy another). The title is clean and you will have absolutely no problems to register the car in the States.I will tell you a few words about the car..
My car has automatic transmission it is in Alabaster Silver Metallic condition with 24,467 miles and have the VIN number: 1HGCM66506A032197 , rust free , no scratch and hasn’t been involved in any accident. The motor runs very well. The interior looks great(NO SMOKING).This car needs nothing, the title is clear ,it is not a salvage one. I want this transaction to go smoothly enough as I am caught in the middle of some very important events and have little time at my disposal. I already have tons of emails so I hope you understand that I need to sort them out. The car is like new, in perfect conditions, accident free, no scratches, no special marks, no need for additional repairs what so ever. a genuine road runner ready to be yours, but only if you shall understand and you won’t make me loose time as it has already happened to me.
Here are all the photos of my car in the attachment below. The pictures are recent, and they were taken right before preparing the car for sale. The car is exactly as shown in the pictures.
The price is $3500 USD THIS IS MY LAST PRICE.I will not negotiate the price.I will take in consideration only those buyers who are really interested in buying the car ,to be sure that I don’t waste my time with endless discussions. This way,I shall be assured of the serious intentions .
Before leaving I had prearranged shipping and also the payment with eBay motors. so my presence in U.S isn’t necessary(The car is locked in a eBay motor warehouse Chicago ready for delivery). The price of car $3500 includes all the shipping costs and insurance, so you won’t have to pay any extra charges. Here is what I suggest: we will use eBay which acts like a service , you make a deposit in an eBay managed trust fund ( they hold the money until you receive the car ), and send the car over( the car will be delivered with the title, owner’s manual, 2 sets of keys, service records, and of course the bill of sale authorized and signed by me),I will offer a 5 day period from the day you receive it from the shipping company, you can inspect it, take it to a mechanic to check it out, drive it and then if you decided to keep it, you’ll confirm to eBay motors the sale and they will send the payment to me. If, by any reason, you will not be satisfied with it ( even though I can assure you that it is exactly as described), you can return it at my expense for a full refund of your money, no questions asked.I think this is more than fair for the both of us.
NOTE: The deposit (down payment) is refundable, and is just a security measure, to make sure that you are serious, and that I am not going to ship the car, and loose time and money. If you are interested to go ahead with the deal, please reply with your full name and full shipping address

Larry McCann answers:

This is just a take off on the Nigerian money scams.

There isn’t a car for sale. They will try to get as much money as they can from you, and the car will never be shipped to you.

He writes: “…The car is locked in a eBay motor warehouse Chicago ready for delivery…” Hello…eBay doesn’t have ‘motor warehouses’ in Chicago or anywhere else.

Just delete the e-mail. There’s no one to sue, and no one to charge with a crime.

Nancy asks…

What do you think of my 1st draft, part 1 of my story for a book? Is my writing style any good?

The 7:44am alarm goes off in a completely darkened bedroom and is allowed to beep for 1 full minute. Slowly a hand come out from under the covers and reaches for the TV remote, aims and shoots to bring some human voices or some other reason into the room to wake him up. He hears the sounds from that familiar show that usually airs this time of day but it’s still not enough to bring him out of what seemed like only 8 minutes of what was supposed to have been a 2 hour nap. A smile comes over his face as he remembers that e-mail that he’d sent to some chick that he spotted online in an Astrology forum the night before. He wondered if she had replied. She’s a Capricorn sun with Aries rising and he’s Aries with Capricorn rising. He thought that might be something worth exploring…although he was a little bit leery of her Leo Moon. He’d never gotten along with Leos Sun signs, for some reason. His X has Leo rising… but he was curious to see how that Leo Moon would operate. Then he thought to himself, “Curiosity killed the cat” and laughed out loud…

Suddenly he hears a different voice on the TV announcing, “We interrupt your regularly scheduled program for a Special News Report”. He listens for a moment, but hesitates to engage himself. These “special news brief” are usually nothing more than an update about the weather or a 20 car pile up somewhere in east Jabip…but he keeps an ear open, just in case it happens to be another 9/11 alert. He hears the announcer say something about::: the recent economic conditions, blah, blah, blah…:::the automobile industry, blah, blah…bankruptcy, blah, blah. Then the announcer mentions the name of the competitor company that he works for. They’re laying off over 2000 workers, shutting down some operations and freezing salaries. That definitely gets his attention, but he’s relieved when the broadcast ends without mentioning the company that he’s working for.

He’s quite awake now, so he decides to get out of bed and check the PC, which he left running while napping, because it takes forever to restart if not. He goes straight to his inbox and notices that he has 1 new message. Sure enough, it’s from that Capricorn chick. He quickly opens and reads, but is somewhat deflated by her polite but rather lukewarm reply. He mumbles something under his breath about chicks and Capricorn and crap and goes in to take his 8 minute shower at exactly 8:00 am. While in the shower, he keeps thinking about this Cappy chick. Although her reply was not that great, it seemed friendly. After all, he had only asked her a very general Astrology question. She didn’t have to reply at all. So he thinks outloud, (to himself), “Maybe I’ll send her another e-mail, tell her about my Aries Sun/Cap rising and see what she thinks of that?” “Yeah, that’s what I’ll do!”

He abruptly ends his shower in 7 minutes and hurries back to the PC, toweling off along the way. He logs back in to her message and clicks, “Reply”. He quickly types out his thoughts about their Sun/rising situation and asks her what she thinks…and presses “Send”. He sits there for a few moments looking at the monitor, as if to get an instant reply and realizes that he’s sitting there in a towel and the clock is still ticking. He continues on to shave, get dressed and leaves the apartment at 8:45 pm…leaving only 15 minutes for his 20 minute drive to work. He stopped by his mailbox to retrieve his mail. There were some junk advertisements, the water bill, a notice from his apartment rental office and a letter from his ex’s lawyer.

He jumps into his recently purchased gas guzzling but very well equipped SUV. He was able to get a really good deal on it and paid cash for it because of the rising gas prices and slow sales. Even though it was drinking its own weight in $4.00 a gallon fuel, he didn’t have a monthly note, so he figured that canceled things out. Speaking of which, it was very low on fuel so he decided to stop by for a quickie on the way to work. Realizing that he was low on funds and payday was still 2 weeks away, he decided to put in only a quarter of a tank. He could make it back and forth to work – ONLY if he budgeted his speed and any other unnecessary trips and such.

He arrived at work 5 minutes late, as usual. Nothing was ever said about that because he usually stayed 30 to 45 minutes after closing, without ever getting paid. He pulled up to his work station, parked and walked over to the main office building to greet his co-workers and put his microwavable dinner in the company frige. He’d pass through the front office and greet all the guys and gals at the counter. He’d always get a very warm and hearty greeting back. Everyone loved Charlie, he was so funny and nice…even if he was having a bad day. Charlie didn’t know most of their names. These were mostly young manager trainees who were promoted and shipped out every 4 months. By the time you got to really kn
By the time you got to really know one of them they’d be replace with another new face. There were a few that stood out but for the most part, they were just co-workers.

Then he’d make his way towards the kitchen area, passing through the inner office and he’d speak to everyone there. He’d always say a special “Hi Flo!” to this one employee named Florence…and she’d cheerfully respond, “Hi Charlie!”, most times without ever looking up from her work. On his way back through her area, he’d say “Bye Flo!” and she’d say, “Bye Charlie!” He and Flo had worked there the longest and knew each other better than the rest. They shared a lot of personal things in common and knew things about each others families. She was very attractive and extremely friendly, pure and sweet and had a great sense of humor. She’s the kind of girl that you’d want to marry or clone for all of your close male friends and relatives to marry. Unfortunately for all the guys she was already very happily married
But the thing that Charlie liked most about her was her voice…and the way she said his name…which is why she was the only one he greeted by name, just to hear her say his name.

On this particular day, there was something different in her reply…her voice was heavy. She turned and looked at him and said, “Hi Charlie”. He could see that her eyes were cloudy and her posture was slightly droopy. Their simple greeting was usually the extent of their conversation for the entire day but this was not usual for her or him. He wanted to ask her if everything was okay, but didn’t want to call any undue attention to her. Charlie went in to deposit his lunch in the freezer and got 2 bottles of water to take back to his office. When he came back through the inner office, Flo wasn’t at her desk. That wasn’t a big deal, but it wasn’t a little one either…after her response. Charlie shrugged it off and made his way back to his work station but tried to justify Flo’s actions in his mind.
She was known for being very emotional. He remembers how she teared up when she told him that she and her husband were getting a new house…and how one day, she left for lunch upset with a customer over the phone and said that she was never coming back. He was just hoping that it wasn’t anything seriously wrong.

When he arrived at his work station, Flo was there with a very heavy message for Charlie. …

Do you think it’s any good, so far?
Thank you all for your very helpful and constructive criticism. It’s my first attempt, so I’m extremely green, as you can see. It will be a very long story when finished. I just wanted to see if I had enough to make anyone want to continue reading.

Larry McCann answers:

I think your story is too long for most of the people here to get the nack. They’re used to seeing a few paragrahps and yours is taking to long for them to follow. I think it’s an interesting story and I agree with most (including you) that your style is a bit green. But keep going, it’s only going to get better.

You got to start somewhere, right?

Cheers

Hello Web Admin, I noticed that your On-Page SEO is not that great, for one you do not use all three H tags in your post, also I notice that you are not using bold or italics properly in your SEO optimization. On-Page SEO means more now than ever since the new Google update: Panda. No longer are backlinks and simply pinging or sending out a RSS feed the key to getting Google PageRank or Alexa Rankings, You now NEED On-Page SEO. So what is good On-Page SEO?First your keyword must appear in the title. Then it must appear in the URL.You have to optimize your keyword and make sure that it has a nice keyword density of 3-5% in your article with relevant LSI (Latent Semantic Indexing). Then you should spread all H1,H2,H3 tags in your article.Your Keyword should appear in your first paragraph and in the last sentence of the page. You should have relevant usage of Bold and italics of your keyword. There should be one internal link to a page on your blog and you should have one image with an alt tag that has your keyword….wait there’s even more Now what if i told you there was a simple WordPress plugin that does all the On-Page SEO, and automatically for you? That’s right AUTOMATICALLY, just watch this 4minute video for more information at. WordPress Seo Plugin
